YMCA residents enjoy weekly yoga sessions

William Collier House residents have recently started to benefit from yet another healthy minds in healthy bodies project.

Yoga teacher Kate volunteered her time to teach yoga in the newly refurbished downstairs studio, on the YMCA premises. The first session was relaxed but intensive in learning. Those involved learnt the snake pose, child’s pose and pranayama breathing exercises.

Sarah Lobo, Project Worker at William Collier House, said: ‘We all left feeling very relaxed. Feedback from the group was that they enjoyed being able to learn the yoga poses and were able to leave their problems at the door with the relaxing environment. I also wanted to thank Jamima for her wonderful wall hangings!’

Classes take place every Wednesday in the downstairs studio.
