Brighton YMCA Creative Showcase at Brighton Fringe
This year’s Fringe saw a fascinating and exciting collection of artwork created by participants in Brighton YMCA’s art group. The exhibition included paintings, drawings, collage and sculpture and was on show for one week only in the beautiful surroundings of the state-of-the-art George Williams supported housing complex in Portslade.
One client said: “Creating my own art at Brighton YMCA has helped change my life.”
Participants in the weekly art group are encouraged to use artistic processes as a theraputic way of expressing themselves. This will be the first time that George Williams Centre has been used as an exhibition space for the visual arts, allowing Brighton YMCA residents to present their individual and unique artwork to the general public.
“A fantastic and diverse collection of art made by real people”
(Kerry Stevens, Manager George Williams Centre)
