Garden Created by Brighton YMCA residents wins local award!

Residents from Brighton YMCA’s George Williams Mews in Portslade are celebrating after they were awarded third prize in the renowned annual Brighton & Hove City in Bloom competition, in the Best Wildlife Category.

Entries to the competition are invited from the Brighton community – businesses, schools and local residents who wish to improve their local environment. Entrants into the Best Wildlife category must reproduce a habitat as close to the natural world as possible.

Natasha Hooper, Assistant Chief Executive at Brighton YMCA says:

“Everyone at Brighton YMCA is very proud that our garden has been recognised by Brighton in Bloom. Our gardener, Paul Attwood works very hard with the residents to design, plant and maintain the garden and it always attracts compliments from visitors.’
